


Obituary of Samuel M. Morgenstern
Samuel M. Morgenstern, 65, of Belle Mead died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided most of his life in Belle Mead, NJ. He was a member of The Jewish center of Princeton.
Sam was the Optical Shoppe Manager of the Princeton Eye Group for 30 years. He was Past President of the Opticians Association of New Jersey, and was active in various national optical organizations. He was also a well-known educator and speaker at industry events and was an editor and contributor to several trade publications.
Sam’s passions were music and photography. He was proficient on both tuba and bass guitar. A member of the Witherspoon Street Traveling Medicine Show, he performed at many charity events over the years.
Son of the late Bernard and Jeanette (Mirsky) Morgenstern, he is survived by his wife Debra (Goldman) Morgenstern, his 2 daughters Michelle Leekoff and her husband Mark, Jennifer Morgenstern, 3 brothers Neil Morgenstern and his wife Robyn, David Morgenstern and his husband Arthur Scheff and Fredrick Morgenstern, and a granddaughter Madison Leekoff.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic the funeral was private.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Star of David Memorial Chapel of Princeton.
